Charlie doesn’t have big dreams in life. He loves working with dogs and looks forward to his annual March Madness trip to Vegas with his buddies. But what he really wants is to make his girlfriend happy. Jen, on the other hand, has big dreams. Her sights are set on becoming a social media star and she plans to drag Charlie along with her.
The two submit an entry in the March Madness BILLION-Dollar Bracket Challenge that lights a fuse propelling them into a viral spotlight. Round-after-round their bracket remains perfect, and #CharlieMadness becomes a worldwide trending sensation.
Michael Johnson (MJ to his friends and family) plays basketball like his namesake, or at least he did before a gruesome injury his junior year ended his NBA dreams. But a late burst his senior season has his team in the March Madness tournament and on a Cinderella run towards the National Championship. MJ plays to provide for his sick mom, his grandma and his two young siblings, and they will all get caught up in the #CharlieMadness spotlight.
These forces converge at the March Madness Final Four. As the clock ticks down in the championship game, MJ puts up the winning shot and the whole world watches as it falls toward the basket . . . The MADNESS reaches a pinnacle, and Charlie, Jen, and MJ are left to live with the aftermath.
Madness is a feature screenplay completed in 2023 and was an award winner at multiple highly-recognized national screenplay competitions.
